Action Man's Gripping History: The Story Behind the Iconic Toy

Published 3 weeks, 5 days ago
Description

Action Man, the iconic British action figure, celebrates its 60th birthday. Its success is largely due to the innovative gripping hand, invented by Bob Brechin at Palitoy. The gripping hand was born out of a challenge at a toy fair, where Bob sculpted it using his own left fist. Palitoy, where Bob worked, was a thriving factory in Coalville, Leicestershire, producing Action Man, Star Wars figures, and Care Bears. Today, Bob attends conventions and has a street named after him, Action Man Road, in his hometown. Checkout Solipillow.com
