Story Transcript:

Sl: Snežinke so nežno padale na strehe internata in ga zavijale v belo odejo.
En: The snowflakes gently fell on the roofs of the dormitory, wrapping it in a white blanket.

En: The Solkanski internat by the reka Soči looked like a fairyland.

En: We were all excited about the upcoming winter cultural festival.

En: I was Mateja, the leading person in this project, and I had a special role — to present my play.

En: I clutched the script in my hands when I noticed Rok and Nina in the hallway.

Sl: Rok je bil vedno poln energije in idej, prava srca skupine.
En: Rok was always full of energy and ideas, truly the heart of the group.

En: "Hey, Mateja," he said, "are you ready for the festival?"

Sl: "Nekaj me skrbi," sem odgovorila.
En: "I'm worried about something," I replied.

En: "I heard that a snowstorm might stop all the transport.

Sl: Morda bodo odpovedali dogodek."
En: They might cancel the event."

Sl: Nina je tiho pristopila.
En: Nina quietly approached.

Sl: "To bi bilo grozno," je zamrmrala.
En: "That would be terrible," she murmured.

Sl: Bila je izjemna violinistka, a še vedno ni pokazala svoje glasbe pred vsemi.
En: She was an exceptional violinist, but she still hadn't performed her music in front of everyone.

Sl: Zaupala je samo meni in Roku, ker smo že dolgo prijatelji.
En: She trusted only Rok and me because we had been friends for a long time.

Sl: Rok je takoj stopil v akcijo.
En: Rok immediately sprang into action.

En: "We can't let a little snow stop us.

Sl: Kaj če bi festival izpeljali kar tu, pod streho?"
En: What if we held the festival right here, under the roof?"

En: "In our common room?" I wondered.

En: I looked around; the large hall could accommodate most of the students and teachers.

Sl: "Zakaj pa ne?" Je odgovoril Rok z zagnanostjo.
En: "Why not?" Rok replied enthusiastically.

En: "If we succeed, we can show that we are responsible and capable."

Sl: Strinjali smo se in odšli k ravnatelju s predlogom.
En: We agreed and went to the principal with the proposal.

En: I told him about the plan for the hall, and it seemed that the excitement caught him.

Sl: "Če uspete organizirati vse, bomo festival izvedli," je dejal.
En: "If you manage to organize everything, we will hold the festival," he said.

Sl: "Ampak pohitite!"
En: "But hurry!"

Sl: V tistih urah, ko je zunaj snežilo, smo Rok, Nina in jaz hitro pripravili dvorano.
En: During those hours when it was snowing
