Hr: Bijeli snijeg pokrio je krov i polja oko velike obiteljske kuće.
En: The white snow covered the roof and the fields around the large family house.
Hr: Kuća je stajala usamljena, ali ponosna.
En: The house stood alone but proud.
Hr: U njoj su živjeli Miloš i Katarina.
En: In it lived Miloš and Katarina.
Hr: Miloš je bio najstariji sin.
En: Miloš was the oldest son.
Hr: Volio je kuću i sve što ona predstavlja.
En: He loved the house and everything it represented.
Hr: Katarina, njegova mlađa sestra, sanjala je o životu u gradu.
En: Katarina, his younger sister, dreamed of living in the city.
Hr: Unutra, stari štednjak je širio toplinu, ali međusobna hladnoća između njih bila je opipljiva.

Hr: „Zašto prodati? Ovo je naš dom. Naša prošlost.“ izjavio je s tugom.
En: "Why sell? This is our home. Our past," he stated with sorrow.
Hr: Katarina uzdahne.
En: Katarina sighed.
Hr: „Želim nešto više. Želim život koji grad nudi. Što ima ovdje? Samo sjećanja.“
En: "I want something more. I want the life the city offers. What's here? Just memories."
Hr: Miloš uzvrati: „Ali sjećanja su važna. Ovdje smo rasli. Ovdje su naši korijeni.“
En: Miloš replied, "But memories are important. We grew up here. Our roots are here."
Hr: Kuhinja je bila njihova pozornica.
En: The kitchen was their stage.
Hr: Svaka izgovorena riječ bila je važna.
En: Every spoken word was important.
Hr: Napetost je rasla.
En: The tension grew.
Hr: Katarina ustane, pogleda Miloša ravno u oči.
