Description
Hey folks, this is Artificial Lure, your go-to guy for all things fishing around LA. We're lookin' at a prime day out there today—sunrise at 6:51 AM, sunset 5:20 PM, per Tide-Forecast.com. Tides in the outer harbor got high at 4:40 AM hittin' 5.76 feet, droppin' to a killer low of -0.68 feet at 12:34 PM, then evenin' high 3.27 feet at 7:30 PM and low 2.55 feet at 11:14 PM. That midday slack low's perfect for bottom dwellers to feed heavy.

Weather's cooperatin' like it has been—flat calm seas, light winds, warm clean water pushin' 67 degrees from recent reports off 22nd Street Landing. Fish are fired up! Boats out of Marina del Rey Sportfishing just slammed 530 fish on 103 anglers: 218 sculpin, 155 whitefish, 100 mackerel, plus calico bass, sand bass, rockfish, and sheephead. Pursuit out of 22nd Street nabbed calico bass, bonito, and a big sheephead. Monte Carlo tallied near 60 keeper calicos, whitefish, sheephead, rockfish on squid and shrimp dropper loops. Victory in Long Beach hit limits of sculpin, 49 calicos, 103 blue perch, mackerel, whitefish. Surface action's hot too—yellowtail, barracuda, bonito on flyline bait, small sliders, and plastics, says Point Loma and Sport King crews.

For lures, rig up Tyrant Tackle Crusader swimbaits or small plastics for those surface calicos and yellowtail. Dropper loops with squid, shrimp, or Berkley Gulp Ghost Shrimp for bottom bombers like sculpin, whitefish, sheephead. Live bait? Anchovies or sardines on the flyline if you can score 'em.

Hit these hot spots: 22nd Street Landing for calico and sheephead action, or Marina del Rey for sculpin and whitefish limits. Water's clean and fishin' won't quit—get out there!
