Greg Mello is the Executive Director of Los Alamos Study Group, which seeks nuclear disarmament, and peace, not war. In reference to President Trump's chaotic directive "to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis" with other countries, Mello says though such a measure would not involve explosives testing, it would likely amount to increased funding for nuclear weapon development, in violation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and siphoning resources from basic social safety programs like food stamps.
