The Holy War on the hardwood just delivered a masterpiece in Provo. No. 13 BYU took down Utah 91–78 in a game that felt less like a standard rivalry and more like a coronation for the future of Cougar basketball. 

The Dybantsa Dynasty Begins 

If there was any doubt about AJ Dybantsa’s status as the top prospect in the country, he silenced it with a historic 43-point explosion. Breaking Danny Ainge’s 48-year-old freshman scoring record isn't just a "good game"—it’s a legendary statement. After hearing "overrated" chants in Salt Lake City earlier this month, Dybantsa responded by shooting 15-of-24 from the floor, punctuated by a late stepback three that nearly blew the roof off the Marriott Center. Depth and Grit While Utah’s shooting was statistically absurd—hitting 62% from beyond the arc—they simply couldn't withstand the Cougars' relentless pace.    

 •    Rob Wright III was the engine, dropping 21 points and controlling the flow.    

 •    Richie Saunders proved why he’s the soul of this roster, fueling a 14–3 second-half run with pure hustle and timely buckets. 

The Big 12 Landscape 

With this win, BYU moves to 17–2 (5–1 in the Big 12) and sets the stage for a massive showdown against No. 1 Arizona on Monday. For Utah, it’s a tough pill to swallow; despite a valiant 23-point effort from Keanu Dawes, they remain winless on the road in conference play. As Drake Toll—who has rightfully cemented his place on the Mount Rushmore of "Tolls"—noted on Locked On Big 12, the Cougars are officially a national title contender. The "Toll" for entering the Marriott Center has become far too high for most visitors to pay.
