Description
Mia Lanser, My Wisconsin Woods Coordinator and Phenology Calendar Team Lead at the Aldo Leopold Foundation, discusses their 2026 phenology calendar. Phenology is the study of the cyclical and seasonal changes in plant and animal life. The Foundation releases a phenology calendar every year, curated by Senior Fellow Dr. Stan Temple, that tracks events such as peak apple blossom, departure of migrant Canada Geese, start of red fox mating season, etc. The 2026 edition highlights Nina Leopold Bradley's phenological legacy by featuring her quotes and photos in the sidebars for each month. The calendar can be purchased online or at the Foundation store, and patrons can use it to better attune themselves to natural events.
