Auburn Football: Rebuilding Under New Coach

Published 1 month ago
Description

Auburn football concluded the 2025 season with a disappointing 5-7 record, marking their fifth consecutive losing year and a single win in SEC play. This poor performance earned them a D+ grade from USA Today Sports. Despite a strong start, the Tigers struggled with four consecutive losses, followed by a win against Arkansas and a dismal end to the season. Head coach Hugh Freeze was fired amidst a player exodus, and Auburn joined twelve other programs with the same D+ grade, five of which also dismissed their coaches. Now, under new head coach Alex Golesh, Auburn aims to rebuild with fresh talent, including quarterback Byrum Brown, who threw for 4,166 yards and 42 touchdowns last year. The team looks forward to a turnaround next fall.
