Trusting God in Hard Times: Why We Worship Him Anyway
Description
Trusting God in hard times starts, Sam Walters says, with having your own why — not just a habit of church attendance, but a settled reason for worship that can hold up when everything else falls apart. He opens with his own story of nearly walking away from church as a teenager after being mocked by friends, and with Job's response to losing everything in a single day: he "fell down upon the ground and worshipped."
Sam gives three reasons the Bible gives for worshipping God, built around the heavenly scene in Revelation 4 and 5: God is worthy because He caused everything to exist (Hebrews 3's builder-is-greater-than-the-house argument), because He cares — even when, like a newborn, we can't yet understand that care — and because He can actually intervene in real situations, illustrated through personal stories of an unexpected exam recovery, a head elder's cancer diagnosis, and a young relative unexpectedly asking to return to church.
This message speaks directly to anyone facing uncertainty, waiting on an answer to prayer, or wondering whether trusting God is worth it when life gets difficult — closing with an invitation to bring specific requests to Him in prayer.
