In this episode of Catechesis, Fr Peter George Flynn talks about the Noveritis which is a liturgical chant sung on the feast of the feast of the Epiphany. It serves to announce the dates of moveable feasts in the liturgical year ahead. It is traditionally sung after the Gospel. The Noveritis has historical roots in the practice of announcing the date of Easter on the feast of the Ephiphany which was done before calenders.
