Lt: Miškas buvo tylus, o storos sniego pusnys dengė kiekvieną medžio šaką, lyg storu ir šaltu antklodės užklotas kraštovaizdis.
En: The forest was silent, and thick snowdrifts covered each tree branch, like a landscape covered with a thick and cold blanket.
Lt: Jokūbas, miško reindžeriu jau daugelį metų dirbantis vyras, stovėjo miško pakraštyje, už ausų turėdamas seną peilį.
En: Jokūbas, a man who had been working as a forest ranger for many years, stood at the forest's edge, with an old knife tucked behind his ear.
