Story Transcript:

En: On a cold morning with light snow falling, the first shoppers were already strolling through the main square in Ljubljana.

En: The colorful market was full of life; vendors joked and called out to passersby, while under the bright awnings, fresh produce was on display.

En: In the background, the scent of mulled wine filled the air, accompanied by the aromas of cinnamon and cloves.

En: Mateja, a young woman, slowly walked among the stalls.

Sl: Bila je oblečena v topel volnen šal, kapa ji je pokrivala ušesa pred hladem.
En: She was wrapped in a warm wool scarf, with a hat covering her ears against the cold.

En: She glanced around; her clear goal was to purchase fresh vegetables and meat for her favorite pot.

Sl: Luka, njen prijatelj, je stal ob njej.
En: Luka, her friend, stood beside her.

En: He bounced slightly, not so much from the cold but from impatience.

Sl: "Mateja, pohiti.
En: "Mateja, hurry up. I want a coffee," he said with a hint of desperation, though he couldn't hide a slight smile showing he still enjoyed the company.

Sl: Cene so bile visoke zaradi zime in velikega povpraševanja.
En: Prices were high due to the winter and the great demand.

En: Mateja knew she had to be careful.

En: She decided not to splurge at the well-known and expensive stalls.

En: Her heart longed for modest success in the quest for fresh but affordable ingredients.

En: Mateja withdrew from the crowd and headed toward the less known corners of the market.

En: There were fewer people, but the offerings were not bad.

Sl: Kmalu je njen pogled ujel stojnico z žarečim napitkom oranžnih korenčkov, svežo zeleno zelenjavo in lepimi kosi mesa.
En: Soon her gaze caught a stall with glowing orange carrots, fresh green vegetables, and fine cuts of meat.

Potrebujete kaj posebnega?"
En: The vendor, an elderly gentleman with a big smile, greeted her: "Good day, miss! Do you need something special?"

En: Mateja turned to him. "I'm looking for the best vegetables and meat for a good stew. But," she quickly added, "everything must be at a moder
