#429: Miami National Championship Aftermath - Priests

Published 3 days, 23 hours ago
Description

Well... is it a Recap Show? Is it an off-season show? It's both! We are back to break down the aftermath of the National Championship Game.

Toast's voice is SHOT and he's really concerned that Scoop and Roman aren't as cooked as he is. But even though we're reluctant to rehash the pain of this special teams loss, because it's something that wasn't on our radar, as Roman really goes in on the blocked punt. Toast tries his hardest to be the voice of reason, saying the missed field goal could have made a big difference down the stretch, and Scoop tells the heart-breaking story of how his daughter burst into tears after the blocked punt.

The debate rages about the future of the program, and whether you have the right guys in the culture going forward. And Roman speaks bluntly about the late-game interceptions by Carson Beck - aside from him being very good for a large majority of the season - and he's looking for an upgrade under center next season. Toast responds to the criticism of Beck very strongly, and Scoop tries to break down the last interception, trying to figure out if there were better throws he left on the field.

We dial down on some of the bigger headlines after the game, including Mark Fletcher's incident on the field after the game and how the remarks about his father are what really set him off. Plus we hear from new official OBB Eric MacLain who said on ACC Network that Miami is set up for a decade of dominance, and audio from Mario about what he said to the team immediately after the loss. And Scoop talks about all the guys from this team that he's going to miss because they are truly the best thing to happen to Miami football in 25 years.

Roman polls the show to see who called for Mario's firing after some of the bigger losses - to which no one raises their hand. And Toast polls the show with a higher-or-lower question about whether Miami wins a Natty within the next three years... and Scoop and Ro both go under! And we address the situation with Mensah - who IS now in the Portal - and how that deal could still come together even if it takes a little more time than expected. And if they don't land him, we try to dissect how the quarterback competition would shake out.

We also close out our Pick Ems for the 2025, as Toast wins the season picks for the first time in a few years. And Roman brings back the one and only FIVE QUESTIONS - which this week includes examples of things that are suspiciously nice, what industry would collapse if people couldn't lie, what we think is on the dark side of the moon, the best scene in TV history, and what company has the worst logo.
