Story Transcript:

Et: Käsmu rannal oli vaikne talvehommik. Lumi kattis liivaseid rannajoont ja meri jõnksutas kergelt kaldal.
En: On a quiet winter morning on Käsmu beach, snow covered the sandy coastline, and the sea lightly nudged the shore.

En: In the distance, pine forests were visible, and the crisp sparkle of snow was palpable in the air.

Et: Mati oli täna tavalisest põnevam.
En: Mati was more excited than usual today.

Et: Ta otsustas ehitada lumest liivalossi.
En: He decided to build a sandcastle out of snow.

Et: Jah, just nimelt!

En: He knew it sounded crazy, but it was his heart's desire.

En: Mati's friends, Leelo and Toomas, watched him from afar.

En: They exchanged glances and thought Mati was engaging in a bit of a futile effort.

Et: "Lumi on ju liiga puderjas," ütles Leelo.
En: "The snow is too powdery," said Leelo.

En: "It doesn't hold well at all," added Toomas, smirking.

En: But Mati didn't let them discourage him.

En: He knew he needed more than just snow.

En: So, he dashed to the sea and brought back cold seawater in a bucket.

En: He poured the water onto the snowpile, hoping the water would make the snow denser and able to be constructed into something.

En: Despite the cold and the biting chill in his fingertips, Mati worked with concentration.

En: He piled the masses of snow and smoothed them with water.

Et: Varsti hakkas midagi kerkima.
En: Soon, something began to emerge.

En: Though his hands were soaked and reddened by the cold, he didn't give up.

En: He packed the snow firmly and added frozen icicles hanging from the tree branches.

En: Leelo and Toomas joined in once they saw the final result.

En: They couldn't believe that Mati had actually managed to build a standing snowcastle complete with proud icicles crowning it.

Et: See oli ilus ja imetlusväärne.
En: It was beautiful and admirable.

Et: "Noh, see on küll midagi erilist," tunnistas Leelo olles sügavalt üllatunud.
En: "Well, this is something special," Leelo admitted, deeply surprised.

En: Toomas took a picture and gave Mati a congratulatory pat on the back.<
