The Penn State football team is fully in recruiting mode for the team’s 2026 offseason. With junior days right around the corner, there’s finally time for us to discuss the team’s upcoming season. With the Big Ten schedule release next Tuesday, we’re spending today’s BWI Live Show previewing the schedule before it’s announced. We’ll discuss the most important games and highlight where we think certain matchups will land on the calendar. We’ll discuss the latest Penn State news, including a way-too-early top 25 ranking for the coming season. Plus, we’ll discuss which players we think need to develop this offseason for the team to reach those rankings estimations.

Good news for Penn State recruiting

We’ll start the show discussing the latest Penn State recruiting news. Yesterday, Rivals national reporter Steve Wiltfong put in his prediction for former Penn State commit Kemon Spell to rejoin the team’s Class of 2027. We’ll discuss the impact of that coming true, and what Spell means to the team’s efforts to rebuild its relationships and footing in Pennsylvania early in new head coach Matt Campbell’s time as the team’s leader. 

Next, we’ll shift our focus to 2026. There are several way-too-early top 25 team rankings out for next year. Reporter Greg Pickel has aggregated them all into one spot for fans, and today, we’ll talk about them. Is Penn State worthy of inclusion in a top 25 after its work in the trasnfer portal? We’ll discuss the pros and cons of the team’s work in the first months of Year One under Campbell. 

Big Ten schedule release

After our weekly Best Bets segment, we’ll discuss the upcoming schedule, which will dictate Penn State’s actual rankings among the Big Ten and the nation next year. Which game do we think will be the annual White Out? Which games to do we think matter the most to the team’s final record? We’ll show you the schedule and then dissect the meaningful parts on the show.
