# Artificial Lure's LA Fishing Report
Hey folks, this is Artificial Lure coming to you live from the Southern California coast. Let's break down what's happening on the water today around Los Angeles.
**Tides and Timing**
We've got ideal conditions this morning. High tide hit at 10:03 AM with a solid 5.58 feet, and we're looking at a low around 5:01 PM at minus 0.34 feet. Sunrise was at 6:55 AM, so you've still got great light if you're heading out early. Sunset comes in at 5:13 PM, giving us a solid eight-hour window for prime fishing.
**What's Biting**
Here's where it gets exciting. Recent reports from the local charter fleet show fantastic activity. According to 976-TUNA's latest reports, anglers just hauled in 278 fish across four trips with 106 anglers. We're seeing whitefish dominating at 147 fish, followed by sculpin at 96. Sand bass brought in 18, sand dab 12, calico bass 3, plus a cabezon and halibut. That tells me the bottom fishing is absolutely on fire right now.
22nd Street Landing out of San Pedro is reporting incredible bluefin limits for passengers and crew, plus 65 yellowtail. This fleet is seeing some of the best action they've had all season.
**Gear and Bait**
For targeting these species, paddle tail swimbaits in watermelon red ghost patterns are absolutely crushing it right now. You'll want sinkers ranging from eight ounces to a pound, with hooks sized between 1/0 and 5/0 to handle the variety we're seeing.
**Hot Spots**
Get yourself down to San Pedro—22nd Street Landing is dialed in. The outer harbor is producing consistent results. And don't sleep on the coastal half-day trips targeting quality rockfish in the afternoon push.
