If clay begins to dry, it can become so hard that a potter cannot use it anymore. But if it has not completely hardened, the potter can add moissture and work with the clay until it becomes soft and usable. The human heart is naturally hard and hostile agaisnt God, but He alone is the master potter who can work in us to soften our hearts and use us for His glory.
