The night America was saved in Baltimore Harbor. September 13 through the early morning hours of September 14, 1814 Fort McHenry withstood the bombing from the British Navy in The War of 1812. This is the night that Francis Scott Key wrote the Star-Spangled Banner. The British retreated and this victory began negotiations for the end of the War of 1812.
