Built With Love, Or Not At All
“We will not build a peaceful world by following a negative path.”
— Martin Luther King Jr.
As we seek to build a better world, there are three questions we must answer:
Who are we building for?
What are we trying to build?
And what are we building with?
We are building a world for all of our neighbors—and everyone is our neighbor, even our enemies.
We are trying to build a world free from violence, injustice, and exploitation, where everyone has access to the resources they need to live with dignity.
But such a world will never be built—or sustained—through anger, fear, bitterness, or hate.
Nor will it last if we allow ourselves to be consumed by greed, lust, or pride.
The world we seek can only be built for love, in love, and with love.
We cannot allow ourselves to be overcome by evil, either externally or internally.
As scripture reminds us, we must “overcome evil with good.”
— Romans 12:21
