Tom Lewis OAM military historian speaks with the Radio Show Summer Series about his book 'Cyclone Warriors' and the military's role in the aftermath of Xmas Eve 1974's Cyclone Tracy. Showing heroism and resolve and amidst fatalities, defence personnel played an important role in the sustaining of Darwin as a city. Tom digs deep into the personal story of defence members who saved the city and argues that all uniformed people involved should be awarded the National Emergency Medal.
