Sl: Ko je mrzel zimski veter brisal po hodnikih Ljubljanske gimnazije, je Matej stal pred šolsko oglasno desko.
En: When the cold winter wind swept through the corridors of the Ljubljanska gimnazija, Matej stood in front of the school notice board.
Sl: Vsako jutro se je pojavilo novo, skrivnostno sporočilo, napisano s kretnim pisalom.
En: Every morning, a new, mysterious message appeared, written in chalk.
Sl: “Pazite na vreme, poplave prihajajo,” je danes pisalo.
En: "Beware of the weather, floods are coming," it stated today.
Sl: Matej je bil skeptičen, to je bil že peti napotek ta teden.
En: Matej was skeptical; this was the fifth notice this week.
Sl: "Spet nas hočejo prestrašiti," je rekel Matej svoji sošolki Ani, ki je stala poleg njega v debel plašč zavita.
