圣诞节过去后，另一个重大节日在法国拉开帷幕。那今天我们就要一起聊聊这个节日的主角，也是法国一月限定的仪式感：King Cake（国王蛋糕）。

01. What Is King Cake？到底什么是国王蛋糕？

在法国，January means one thing——la galette des rois，也就是我们要提到的King Cake（国王蛋糕）。

每年一月，这款蛋糕takes over (占领) every bakery (烘焙店) in the country。King Cake和一个法国非常传统的节日——Epiphany（主显节）有关。

在一月六日主显节这天，法国人一整个月（whole month）都在吃这款蛋糕。

��不过为什么要叫King Cake? 又和国王有什么关系？

这款蛋糕不是普通甜点，而是用来choose the king or queen（选出国王或女王）。And that king or queen gets the good luck (好运) and fortune (幸运) for the coming year (来年).

��这个国王或女王要怎么通过蛋糕选出来？

这在于King Cake最关键的部分，就是藏在里面的fève. Fève is a tiny figurine (小雕像) hidden inside the cake.吃到小雕像的人就能成为国王或者女王。
