Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced the seizure of two ghost fleet tanker ships, Motor Tanker Bella One and Motor Tanker Sophia, by U.S. Coast Guard tactical teams in daring predawn operations. The ships, last docked in Venezuela or heading there, were seized in the North Atlantic Ocean and international waters near the Caribbean. The operation, a result of close teamwork with the Justice and State departments, was made possible by President Trumps strong leadership. The Bella One, renamed Marinera, was taken under a federal court warrant after a chase across open seas. This bold move targets global networks fueling corruption and drugs, following the recent capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and his wife.
