Just as athletes train with purpose, followers of Jesus are called to live intentionally. As we focus on God’s priorities, let go of whatever hinders our walk with Christ, and faithfully persevere, we can live in a way that honors Him and finish well.

#1 LEARN FROM THOSE WHO FINISHED WELL

Scripture is filled with faithful men and women who persevered through trials and trusted God to the end. Their stories were preserved to teach and encourage us so that we can continue running our own race with confidence. (Hebrews 11; Hebrews 12:1; Romans 15:4)

#2 REMOVE WHATEVER HOLDS YOU BACK

Just as athletes remove unnecessary weight before a race, believers should identify and set aside anything hindering spiritual growth. Whether it is sin, distraction, bitterness, or misplaced priorities, God calls us to confess what is wrong and pursue Him wholeheartedly. (Hebrews 12:1; Colossians 3:2; Ephesians 4:31-32; 1 John 1:9)

#3 RUN YOUR GOD-GIVEN RACE WITH PERSEVERANCE

Every believer has work God has prepared for them to do. Rather than comparing ourselves with others, we are called to pursue our course faithfully, refuse to give up, and continue serving Christ until the finish line. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27; Galatians 6:9; Hebrews 12:1)

Choose to pursue the prize that lasts forever. Learn from faithful believers who have gone before you, remove whatever slows your spiritual growth, and run the race God has prepared for you with endurance.
