What Does Ellucian's Acquisition Mean for Higher Education?

Ellucian completed its acquisition of Anthology’s Student Information Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning business following Anthology’s restructuring and Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Over 260 Anthology SIS and ERP customers will transition to Ellucian, which will maintain existing systems and expand access to its technology ecosystem. Laura Ipsen, Ellucian’s CEO, confirmed the company’s commitment to continuity and support for customers. Encoura is set to acquire Anthology’s Lifecycle Engagement and Student Success business, with that transaction expected to close in early 2026.
