Jan. 1, near McQueen Road and Chandler Boulevard, officer-involved shooting. A man called police threatening to harm his young daughter in the vehicle with him. Officers stopped the vehicle; at least one officer fired during the encounter. The man died at the scene. Chandler Police Department reports a knife was found in the vehicle. The child was unharmed and reunited with her mother. No officers injured. Mesa Police Department investigating.
No other criminal incidents reported in Chandler for the previous week.
