In this Sunday Bible Study, I broadcast live from the Asylum Studios in Eagle Pass and continue our series on the Dispensations—now 12 weeks in. After a quick update on some pesky tech gremlins, we dive into the close of the legal dispensation and move into the forerunner of the King: John the Baptist.

I trace Israel’s history from the divided kingdom and captivities through the restoration prophets to the 400 years of silence, showing how John’s call to repent stood squarely in the prophetic stream. We unpack the difference between the Kingdom of Heaven (physical, Davidic, promised to Israel) and the Kingdom of God (spiritual, new birth), examine Jesus’ qualifications to wear both crowns through His lineage, victory over Satan, and works, and walk through Matthew’s arc from genealogy to national rejection in chapter 12 and the parables of chapter 13. The takeaway: God’s blessings hinge on moral righteousness—salvation rests on Christ’s righteousness, but fruit and favor are tied to our obedience.

I close with Paul’s charge to examine ourselves and preview where the study heads next: Israel’s threefold rejection and the mystery form of the kingdom.
