Hr: Zima je bila oštra na Učki.
En: The winter was harsh on Učka.

Hr: Snijeg je prekrivao planinu kao bijeli pokrivač, a magla se povremeno spuštala kao blagi veo.
En: Snow covered the mountain like a white blanket, and fog occasionally descended like a gentle veil.

Hr: Ivan je stajao na početku staze, gledajući ispred sebe.
En: Ivan stood at the beginning of the trail, looking ahead.

Hr: U daljini, kroz razne oblike mraza i magle, tek je mogao nazrijeti liniju Jadranskog mora.
En: In the distance, through the various forms of frost and fog, he could barely make out the line of the Adriatic Sea.

Hr: Njegova sestra Ana ispuhivala je topli zrak u ruke, dok je Goran veselo poskakivao u mjestu, bezbrižan i nesputan.
En: His sister Ana blew warm air into her hands, while Goran hopped around happily, carefree and unrestrained.

Hr: "Ivan, zašto smo ovdje gore?
En: "Ivan, why are we up here?"

Hr: " upitala je Ana, njezin glas nosio je tračak rezignacije.
En: Ana asked, her voice carrying a hint of resignation.

Hr: "Mogla sam biti kod kuće s prijateljima.

En: "It is time," Ivan replied quietly, "to stop running away from each other.

En: We need to start this New Year together."

Hr: "Ana je pretrnula.
En: Ana shivered.

Hr: Sjećanja na prošle ozljede, nesuglasice i riječi zadržane predugo u srcima, zatezala su se među njima.
En: Memories of past wounds, disagreements, and words held too long in their hearts stretched between them.

Hr: Goran je okretao oči prema crnim borovima, nadajući se izbjeći ozbiljnost situacije.
En: Goran turned his eyes toward the black pines, hoping to avoid the seriousness of the situation.

Hr: Krenuli su zajedno prema vrhu.
En: They began together towards the summit.
