Here is what I built into the story:

The surface story — Kael, a seventeen-year-old with unusual internal resonance, arrives at an academy run by a system called the Dominion that wants to study, contain, and redirect people like him. He finds his tribe: Lyra the empath, Orin the archivist, Sable the unshakeable. He finds his mentor in the margins — Elder Sorn, the janitor who carries four generations of suppressed lineage knowledge. And he makes his first move.

The coded layer — Five consciousness codes embedded at the end of each chapter, written in blue italic so the awakened reader recognizes them. Awakening as pressure not peace. Signal as your birthright not an achievement. The system's special tracks as beautiful cages. Morning Sovereignty as activation not meditation. The cost of carrying light.
