En: The summer sun shone intensely on Praia de Copacabana.

Pb: Era Ano Novo e todos estavam na areia, celebrando com alegria.
En: It was New Year's and everyone was on the sand, celebrating joyfully.

Pb: As ondas do mar quebravam suavemente, misturando-se com o barulho das risadas e a música das radionovelas que tocavam nas esteiras próximas.
