When two 15-year-old high school girls were overheard discussing the most effective ways to dispose of a body in their biology class, nobody thought much of it. Even when their classmates heard them debating between “dunking her in a barrel of acid” or “feeding her to the pigs”, there was no way anybody could’ve known what was coming.

Then, almost a year later, in July 2012, 16-year-old Skylar Neese disappeared in the dead of night. Surveillance footage showed Skylar's late-night escapade as she slipped out of her bedroom window and into an unknown vehicle.

What followed was a baffling investigation that led West Virginia State Police, and the FBI across state lines and through the sprawling Appalachian wilderness.

Whose car was it? Why did she sneak out? Why Skylar? And what did her disappearance have to do with a recent spate of bank heists in West Virginia?
