Cs: Ve Forsyth Parku, pod majestátními duby, Jakub poprvé cítil zvláštní atmosféru amerického Nového roku.
En: In Forsyth Park, under the majestic oaks, Jakub for the first time felt the unique atmosphere of an American New Year.
Cs: Anna stála vedle něj a ukazovala na světla mezi větvemi ověšenými španělským mechem.
En: Anna stood next to him, pointing at the lights among the branches draped with Spanish moss.
Cs: Jakub se cítil jako ve snu.
En: Jakub felt like he was in a dream.
Cs: Byla to jeho první zima v Savannah, a i když bylo chladno, vzduch voněl vzrušením.

Cs: “ zeptala se Anna zvědavě.
En: Anna asked curiously.
Cs: „Máme tradici s jablky.
En: "We have a tradition with apples.
Cs: Rozřezáváme je napůl a hledáme hvězdičku uvnitř.
En: We cut them in half and look for a star inside.
Cs: Znamená to štěstí na celý rok,“ vysvětloval Jakub.
En: It means good luck for the whole year," Jakub explained.
Cs: Matej se zasmál.
En: Matej laughed.
Cs: „To zní skvěle!
En: "That sounds great!
Cs: Pojďme najít nějaká jablka a zkusíme to!
En: Let's find some apples and try it!"
Cs: “Skupina se rychle rozhodla navštívit stánek s občerstvením.
En: The group quickly decided to visit a snack stand.
Cs: Sehnali jablka a s nadšením se vrátili na místo, kde oslavovali.
En: They procured apples and eagerly returned to the place where they were celebrating.
Cs: Jakub cítil, jak strach pomalu mizí.
