Episode 208
Domestic violence in relationships is devastating at any time of year. Unfortunately, during the holidays, reports and emergency calls related to domestic violence increase significantly. Experts point to several contributing factors, including financial stress from gift-giving, increased alcohol or drug use, and colder weather that leads to more time spent indoors together. No matter the cause, the impact on victims can last a lifetime and, in some cases, can be fatal. In this episode, I discuss domestic violence, the factors that contribute to it, and ways to seek help if you or someone you know is experiencing abuse.
If you or someone you know is in a domestic violence situation, help and support are available through the **National Domestic Violence Hotline** at **1-800-799-7233**, or by texting **“START”** to 88788
