You live and you learn

When we say “you live, and you learn,” we mean: you learn from experience — especially from mistakes. It’s a gentle way to accept that we’re not perfect, and that every experience teaches us something.

Examples:

1- He trusted someone who promised to be there, but when he really needed them, they disappeared. It hurt more than he expected. Later, he took a deep breath and said, “You live and you learn.”

2- She tried a new recipe for guests, and it didn’t turn out the way she hoped.
