Sk: Bratislava v zime má svoje čaro.
En: Bratislava in winter has its charm.

Sk: Ulice sú vysvietené tisíckami malých svetielok a vzduchom sa nesú veselé melódie koledníkov.
En: The streets are illuminated by thousands of tiny lights, and cheerful melodies of carolers carry through the air.

Sk: Vianočný trh je plný ľudí.
En: The Christmas market is full of people.

Sk: Vôňa vareného vína a pražených orechov láka každého okoloidúceho.
En: The smell of mulled wine and roasted nuts entices every passerby.

Sk: Marek kráča ruka v ruke s kamarátkou Petrou.
En: Marek walks hand in hand with his friend Petra.

Sk: „Musím nájsť skvelý darček pre moju sestru,“ hovorí Marek.
En: "I need to find a great gift for my sister," Marek says.

Sk: „Chcem niečo špeciálne, aby vedela, aká je pre mňa dôležitá.“
En: "I want something special so she knows how important she is to me."

Sk: Petra sa uchechtne.
En: Petra chuckles.

Sk: „Veľa šťastia, Marek. Pozri, tu ponúkajú krásne handmade ozdoby.“
En: "Good luck, Marek. Look, they offer beautiful handmade ornaments here."

Sk: Marek však už nie je pri Petre.
En: However, Marek is no longer next to Petra.

Sk: Jeho pozornosť upútala ozvena hlasného oznamu.
En: His attention is caught by the echo of a loud announcement.

Sk: „Prihláste sa do našej vianočnej súťaže pečenia! Výhra je špeciálna vianočná odmena!“
En: "Sign up for our Christmas baking contest! The prize is a special Christmas reward!"

Sk: V davu a pod vplyvom svojho entuziazmu sa Marek rýchlo podpisuje na papier.
En: In the crowd and spurred by his enthusiasm, Marek quickly signs on paper.

Sk: „Prihlásil som nás!“ vyhlási vzrušene.
En: "I've signed us up!" he declares excitedly.

Sk: Petra žmurkne s prekvapením.
En: Petra blinks in surprise.

Sk: „Nás? Marek, my ani nevieme piecť!“
En: "Us? Marek, we don't even know how to bake!"

Sk: „Ach, bude to zábava!“ odpovie Marek optimisticky.
En: "Oh, it'll be fun!" Marek replies optimistically.

Sk: „A možno vyhráme niečo úžasné.“
En: "And maybe we'll win something amazing."

Sk: Pri pečení vzniká chaos.
En: While baking, chaos ensues.

Sk: Marek ani nevie, z ktorej strany sa drží vareška, a Petra je posypaná múkou od hlavy po päty.
En: Marek doesn't even know which way to hold the whisk, and Petra is covered in flour from head to toe.

Sk: Ich koláč vyzerá... nuž, povedzme, kreatívne.
En: Their cake looks... well, let's say, creative.

Sk: „A teraz pre vyhlásenie víťaza našej súťaže pečenia,“ ohlasuje moderátor.
En: "And now for the announcement of the winner of our baking contest," the announcer proclaims.

Sk: „Špeciálna kategória: najzábavnejší pokus. Vyhrávajú Marek a Petra!“
En: "Special category: most amusing attempt. Marek and Petra win!"

Sk: Dav sa smeje a Marek sa klania s úsmevom.
En: The crowd laughs, and Marek bows with a smile.

Sk: Petra len sklopí oči a pokrčí plecami.
En: Petra just lowers her eyes and shrugs.

Sk: Po súťaži Marek objaví malý stánok s ručne vyrobenými ozdobami.
En: After the contest, Marek discovers a small stall with handmade ornaments.

Sk: Je tam nádherná ozdoba v tvare srdca s rytinou: Rodina je všetko.
