Pearl Harbor Survivor Ira Ike Schab Passes Away
Ira Ike Schab, a Pearl Harbor survivor and World War Two Navy veteran, passed away at 105. Despite his age, he attended annual remembrance ceremonies until last year. Born on Independence Day, he joined the Navy at 18, following his fathers path. On December 7, 1941, he was aboard the USS Dobbin, helping feed ammunition to anti-aircraft guns. He served across the Pacific and later worked on the Apollo program. He emphasized honoring Pearl Harbor veterans, both living and deceased.
