Af: Die son sak stadig oor Kaapstad, en Table Mountain is omring met ’n goue gloed.
En: The sun slowly sets over Kaapstad, and Table Mountain is surrounded by a golden glow.
Af: Johannes staan op die voet van die berg en kyk op na die imposante piek.
En: Johannes stands at the foot of the mountain and looks up at the imposing peak.
Af: Dit is Kersfees en die tyd vir die familiebyeenkoms.
En: It is Christmas and the time for the family gathering.
Af: Hy voel 'n knoop in sy maag.
En: He feels a knot in his stomach.
Af: Hy het die laaste paar jaar ’n groot afstand van sy familie afgehou, en dié geleentheid laat hom onseker.
En: He has kept a large distance from his family the past few years, and this occasion leaves him uncertain.
Af: Annelie, sy suster, waai oor vriendelik na hom.
