However, he did not address the headline-generating fallout from his recent very negative comments regarding the tragic deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner, statements even fellow Republicans have criticized. The first fruit of the Spirit is love, shown for us by our Father in the atoning death of his Son; consequently, “We love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19).
