When the Church Gets Messy: Hurt, Healing, and Faithful Community

Season 1 Episode 7 Published 8 months, 3 weeks ago
Description

What do you do when the people who are supposed to help you follow Jesus are also the people who disappoint, misunderstand, or hurt you?

In this Cup of Grace in the Grind, Cody looks honestly at the messiness of life in the Church. Christians are being sanctified, but we still bring pride, assumptions, insecurity, wounds, and imperfect communication into our relationships—and sometimes the same community that brings healing can also become a source of pain.

Through Scripture and personal stories, this episode explores forgiveness, humility, peacemaking, bearing with one another, and the difference between pursuing biblical unity and simply pretending everything is fine. Real peace does not require ignoring hurt. It means bringing truth and grace into the middle of it.

The Church does not need flawless people.

It needs faithful people willing to keep loving, forgiving, reconciling, and letting Christ shape them together.

Scripture: Galatians 6:2; Philippians 1:27; Ephesians 4:2; Colossians 3:13; Romans 12:18; Matthew 5:9; Psalm 133:1
