Season 3 Episode 58
When People Decide What’s Right brings us to the dark and sobering conclusion of the Book of Judges. These chapters reveal what happens when God’s people abandon His authority and follow their own instincts instead.
The Book of Judges ends with a repeated refrain: “In those days Israel had no king, and everyone did what was right in their own eyes.” These chapters illustrate that truth with disturbing clarity.
Micah builds his own private religion. The tribe of Dan steals both idols and a priest. Moral corruption spreads unchecked. Violence escalates. Justice collapses. The result is national tragedy.
When people decide for themselves what is right apart from God, chaos always follows. Judges does not merely tell ancient history. It holds up a mirror to every generation that tries to redefine truth on its own terms.
Today we remember key moments that shaped the church, including political leadership that indirectly strengthened Christianity, theological voices that emphasized holiness, and believers who endured persecution with faith and courage.
