The Washington Commanders have announced that starting quarterback Jayden Daniels will miss the rest of the 2025 NFL season due to an ongoing elbow injury. Marcus Mariota, who has a 2-5 record in seven starts this season, will take over as starter for the final three games. Mariota, a former Falcons quarterback, has thrown for 1600 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions this season, while also adding 290 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown. The Falcons are also managing an injury to their first-round quarterback, Michael Penix Junior, who suffered a partially torn ACL in week eleven and underwent successful reconstruction.
