Comet three-I-Atlas, a rare interstellar visitor from another star system, is making its closest pass to Earth this Friday, offering a unique opportunity to observe an object from beyond our solar system. Discovered in July, the comet is estimated to be between 1400 feet and 3.5 miles across and will have a closer encounter with Jupiter in March. This is only the third known interstellar object to travel through our solar system, with the first two spotted in 2017 and 2019.
