Smooth Surfing Ahead: Southern California Waves Offer Gentle 1-3 Foot Swells and Clean Conditions This Weekend
Published 4 months, 1 week ago
Description
Alright surf fam, here's the lowdown on our coastal conditions!
We're looking at a mellow weekend with gentle waves rolling in across Southern California. If you're thinking about hitting the water, today's your day for some chill surfing action.
Waves are staying smooth and manageable at 1 to 3 feet from Malibu all the way down to San Luis Obispo. Water temperatures are ranging from a crisp 52 to 64 degrees - so wetsuit recommended for sure!
Rip current risk is low across all zones, which means even intermediate surfers can breathe easy. No thunderstorms are expected, giving us clean consistent conditions.
Tides are going to be doing their dance today with multiple high and low points. We've got morning high tide around 5:30 AM hitting about 5.2 feet, dropping to a low around 12:30 PM near 0.7 feet. Another high tide rolls in around 6:30 PM at 3.3 feet.
The swell is coming in from the west, which means some nice clean lines for those looking to catch some rides. Santa Barbara and Ventura areas are especially looking prime with that west swell pattern.
Water temps might make you want to layer up - we're talking 52 to 64 degrees depending on your stretch of coastline. Malibu and LA beaches are sitting prettier in the mid-60s while Central Coast is definitely on the cooler side.
Grab your board, your wetsuit, and get ready for a smooth surfing session! Conditions are looking clean and inviting.
Stay stoked and stay safe out there!
