Description
Paul Wiggin, a legendary defensive end for the Cleveland Browns, passed away at age ninety-one. Known for his durability and skill, Wiggin played in one hundred and forty-six consecutive games and was a two-time Pro Bowl selection. Drafted in the sixth round of the nineteen fifty-six NFL Draft, he recorded at least six sacks for eight straight years, including a career-high nine in nineteen sixty. Wiggins career highlight was recovering a crucial fumble in the nineteen sixty-four championship game against the Indianapolis Colts. After retiring, he coached for the San Francisco Forty-Niners, Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints, Stanford, and Minnesota Vikings, spending forty years with the Vikings. Wiggins impact on the game is evident in his sixty-point-five sacks and nineteen fumble recoveries, placing him sixth and second on the Browns all-time lists, respectively. He was inducted as a Cleveland Browns Legend in two thousand eight.
