Man Arrested for Raping Woman After Car Crash
A California man, Mauricio Martinez-Garcia, has been arrested in Maryland for allegedly raping a woman twice after she was involved in a car crash. The incident occurred on December 18, 2024, in Gaithersburg. Martinez-Garcia, 27, was arrested on December 5, 2025, and charged with two counts of first-degree rape, one count of third-degree sexual offense, two counts of kidnapping, and five counts of second-degree assault. The victim, who did not know her attacker, was offered help after her car accident and was allegedly raped and sexually assaulted at an apartment. Martinez-Garcia is also suspected in another sexual assault case in California.
