C-TRAN takes no action on Board Composition Review Committee’s directive
Description
After a lengthy closed‑door executive session, the C‑TRAN Board of Directors emerged Tuesday with no action on a controversial board‑composition proposal — leaving months of debate between Vancouver, Clark County and the small cities unresolved. A Board Composition Review Committee had recommended a 4‑3‑2 split in seats for Vancouver, the county and the smaller cities, but only if small cities couldn’t be forced to pay for light‑rail operations without local approval and county seats came from districts outside Vancouver. Vancouver’s City Council, however, voted to back the 4‑3‑2 plan without those conditions, while some board members warn that discarding parts of the compromise could invite litigation and further alienate cities already questioning their place in C‑TRAN. https://www.clarkcountytoday.com/news/c-tran-takes-no-action-on-board-composition-review-committees-directive/
