Loving Enough to Confront

Today’s reading covers Matthew 17–19, where we see Jesus revealed in glory, teaching His disciples about
faith, humility, forgiveness, and the radical call of the kingdom. This trio of chapters is packed with
moments of clarity, challenge, and compassion as Jesus shapes those who follow Him.

In Matthew 17, the Transfiguration gives Peter, James, and John a glimpse of Christ’s majesty—a memory that
would anchor them in the difficult days ahead. In Matthew 18, Jesus teaches on relational reconciliation,
revealing that confronting sin is an act of love designed to restore—not condemn. And in Matthew 19, the
conversations about marriage, children, and wealth remind us that the kingdom belongs to those who approach
God in humility and surrender.
