Today’s story begins long before the fire trucks, long before the police lights, long before anyone ever called them Chief Steve or Constable Moose.
It begins with two kids—Steve and Moose—who were bursting with curiosity, big ideas, and yes… just a little bit of mischief.
They climbed trees that were too high.
They raced their bikes down hills that were too steep.
They got into trouble, out of trouble, and then—somehow—back into trouble again.

One would grow up to protect his community from fire and fear.
The other would grow up to protect it with courage and kindness.
