Story Transcript:

En: Karin and Raimo arrived at the Tallinn Old Town Christmas market.

En: Snowflakes fell softly, and the market square was filled with lights and Christmas music.

En: Karin looked in every direction, where waves of people moved between the colorful stalls.

Et: Raimo seisis veidi kaugemal, piiludes rahvahulka.
En: Raimo stood a bit further away, peeking at the crowd.

Et: "Vaata, Raimo," kutsus Karin rõõmsalt, "seal on piparkookide lõhn!
En: "Look, Raimo," called Karin cheerfully, "there's the smell of gingerbread!

Et: Kolm tädi küpsetavad neid päris ahjus."
En: Three ladies are baking them in a real oven."

Et: Raimo naeratas vastu tahtmist.
En: Raimo smiled despite himself.

Et: Pingutamata sammudes astus ta Karinile lähemale.
En: Taking unhurried steps, he moved closer to Karin.

Et: "Sinule meeldivad need asjad, eks?"
En: "You like these things, don't you?"

Et: küsis ta.
En: he asked.

En: Yes, Karin loved the Christmas hustle and bustle, but she had a purpose.

En: She needed to find a gift for her sister, something special and unique.

En: "It should be something handcrafted," she said.

Et: Raimo mõtles hetkeks, toetades sõbra otsustavat sihti.
En: Raimo thought for a moment, supporting his friend's decisive aim.

Et: "Vaatame, mida suudame leida," soovitas ta.
En: "Let's see what we can find," he suggested.

Et: Nad liikusid edasi turu keskosa poole, kus särasid kõige kirkamat tuled.
En: They moved toward the center of the market, where the brightest lights shone.

Et: Kaarin vaatas üle müügilettide, otsides pilguga midagi erilist.
En: Karin looked over the stalls, scanning for something special.

En: Raimo remained quietly stationary, and at one narrow spot, it happened that someone was always stepping in front of him.

Et: Ühtäkki peatus Kaarini pilk, märgates kaunist käsitöö villast salli.
En: Suddenly, Karin's gaze stopped on a beautiful handmade wool scarf.

Et: “See on täiuslik!” hüüatas ta.
En: “This is perfect!” she exclaimed.

En: The problem, however, was that there was only one piece left.

Et: Müüja, lahke naine, selgitas: "See on täpselt viimane müügis."
En: The vendor, a kind woman, explained, "It's the very last one for sale."

En: Karin felt worried, but Raimo, stepping up to her, whispered, "Try talking.

En: Tell her how important it is to you."

En: Karin gathered courage and started a conversation with the vendor.

Et: Naeratus ja lahke meel oli abiks.
En: A smile and a kind heart were helpful.
