Sl: V Ljubljani je padal hladen veter, in listi so šušljali po ulicah.
En: In Ljubljana, a cold wind was blowing, and the leaves rustled through the streets.

Sl: V bolnišnici pa je bilo toplo.
En: But inside the hospital, it was warm.

Sl: Ljudje so hodili sem in tja, vsi z mislimi pri svojih najbližjih.
En: People walked back and forth, all with thoughts of their loved ones.

Sl: Miha je sedel v kotu čakalnice, z rokami v žepu.
En: Miha sat in the corner of the waiting room, hands in his pockets.

Sl: Njegova sestra Nika je bila na operaciji, na katero sta čakala že nekaj tednov.
En: His sister Nika was in surgery, an operation they had been waiting for weeks to happen.

Sl: Miha je bil nervozen.
En: Miha was nervous.

Sl: Hotel je biti močan, a ga je skrbelo.
En: He wanted to be strong, but he was worried.

Sl: Njegov pogled je zdrsnil na stekleni vhod, kjer so se luči odbijale v tisoč barvah.
En: His gaze slipped to the glass entrance, where the lights reflected in a thousand colors.

Sl: Spomnil se je zadnjega pogovora z Niko.
En: He remembered his last conversation with Nika.

Sl: Prepir zaradi nečesa nepomembnega.
En: An argument over something insignificant.

Sl: Tisto noč ni mogel spati;
En: That night, he couldn't sleep; the feeling of guilt was too great.

Sl: občutek krivde je bil prevelik.
En: Now he sat there, powerless, alone with his thoughts.

Sl: Zdaj je sedel tam, brez moči, le s svojimi mislimi.
En: "This isn't fair," he whispered.

Sl: "To ni pravično," je šepetnil.
En: He found a piece of paper and began to write.

Sl: Poiskal je papir in začel pisati.
En: A letter for Nika.

Sl: Pismo za Niko.
En: A simple letter where he tells her that he loves her.

Sl: Preprosto pismo, kjer ji pove, da jo ima rad.
En: That he's sorry.

Sl: Da mu je žal.
En: That he cares.

Sl: Da mu je mar.
En: Minutes passed.

Sl: Minute so minevale.
En: The clock ticked.

Sl: Ura je tiktakala.
En: People came and went.

En: Miha read his letter twice.

Sl: Miha je dvakrat prebral svoje pismo.
En: He was satisfied.

Sl: Zadovoljen je bil.
En: Now all that remained was waiting.

Sl: Zdaj mu je ostalo le še čakanje.
En: The phone rang.

Sl: Telefon je zazvonil.
En: "Mr.

Sl: "Gospod Miha?
En: Miha?"

Sl: " rekel je zdravnik na drugi strani.
En: said the doctor on the other end.

Sl: "Operacija je bila uspešna, vendar bodo potrebovali več časa za okrevanje.
En: "The surgery was successful, but they will need more time to recover."

Sl: " Miha je olajšano izdihnil.
En: Miha exhaled with relief.

Sl: Njegova sestrica je bila v redu.
En: His little sister was okay.

Sl: V mislih se ji je zahvalil za pogum.
En: In his thoughts, he thanked her for her courage.

Sl: Ko je Nika odprla oči, je Miha sedel pri njeni postelji.
En: When Nika opened her eyes, Miha was sitting by her bed.

Sl: "Živjo, pogumna Nika," je rekel in ji podal pismo.
En: "Hello, brave Nika," he said, handing her the letter.

Sl: Ona se mu je rahlo nasmehnila, in svet je spet imel smisel.
En: She gave him a slight smile, and the world made sense again.
